[And he can't resist the little dig. It's just too easy. His grin goes a little lopsided... not that it's probably all that visible in the dark, but he knows his eyes tend to literally brighten a bit as well.]

[Her voice is a low, throaty purr, all dark velvet and invitation. She pushed off the wall and started to saunter towards him.

It's only about two steps before she can get right up in his face, but she works them, knowing he can see her far better than she can see him.

And if he doesn't stop her, she'll even lay one hand on his chest, by his collarbone.]

[He's in for it. There's no way that this is what it seems on the surface. He saw that spark of fury in her eyes, and this? This is definitely just an act. A very distracting act, but an act.

But, well, he already went and jumped into his grave, might as well dig it a bit deeper.]

[How in the hell is he going to dodge anything in a closet...]

[In one fluid movement, Rogue grasps hold of him with one hand and opens the closet door with the other.]

Like you even know what that means!

[And she will attempt to flip him right out that door. And no, she doesn't particularly care if they're still over the ocean. He'd live. He's got the devil's own luck.]

[As it turns out, they're high over the mountains at this point, and there's one brief moment in which the bottom drops out of his stomach and he's sure he's going to fall a thousand feet onto snow-covered rock--]

[--and then the devil's own luck kicks in and he's flung back into the closet, with every ounce of potential energy that he'd started to build up in the temporary freefall. It's a painful reunion with the back wall of the closet.

It may take his brain a moment to catch up with him, but for now, he's a tangled pile of limbs and a few spare coats.]

[Rogue has to dodge out of the way when Gambit comes hurdling through the door again in order to avoid being the one he's tangled up WITH.]

Oh, it just figures!

[And she reaches out to close the door as it swings back towards her, not even glancing down.

Screw this place. 8|]

[With some effort, he manages to untangle himself from the coats and sit up. His head's throbbing pretty badly, but. Well. Could have been much worse. After all, that was a long fall.

Okay, so maybe she isn't beyond letting him fall to his death.

His tone is pure sarcasm.]

[And then she opens the door and steps out of it.]

[Okay, whatever lingering irritation there still was has just evaporated and he's scrambling for the door to try to catch hold of her wrist. Or something. She can't just walk right out--] Nonono!

[Yes, he got slingshot-ed back into the closet but if they're still high over the mountains, that luck might not hold a second time...!]

[What in the hell--

[Eyes brighter than ever, not even caring if the surge of fear is showing in them, he fully means to keep his hold until she backs away from the door.]

What'm I t'inkin'?! [Are you seriously asking him this, Rogue?] I'm t'inkin' there's nothin' but air for half a mile down 'fore the mountains!

What?

[She attempts to yank her hand free.

No, that can't be right, because that means she threw him out over a bunch of mountains.]

[He holds on as best he can. Just this once, would it kill her to be a little less stubborn?

And he looks her right in the eye.]

It's a long way down, Rogue.

[No. No, no, no. She couldn't have done that.

For a moment, her pull against him goes slack. Even if he uses this chance to get a better grip on her, she won't fight him.

She just stares at him in something very much like horror.

Then:]

Let go.

[He meets that stare, holding it steady for a moment. Part of him really doesn't want to let her go, but. Well. She's stopped fighting him, and that gives him some hope that she won't just turn and waltz right out the door without at least looking.

Slowly, he lets her go, watching cautiously for her next move.]
