	Gambit is more or less keeping to the sidelines of the crowds today, both keeping an eye out for familiar faces and just plain people-watching. Because hey, let's face it, this is just about as good entertainment as you'll find in this place. He'll probably head to Good Spirits later on in the day to see how many people he can cheat at cards, because why not.
	Albel Nox is none too amused with all of these people milling around the town, so he's making an effort to get the hell out of the way. Except that people keep turning up in the places where there usually aren't any people. The mountains aren't clear, the forest isn't clear, even the library has a ton of people in it. Eventually, he'll sullenly submit to the mess that is this weekend and just make his way out to the Battle Dome to see if anyone else from back home turns up out there.
	Sergeant Calhoun isn't too terribly phased by the sudden influx of people, although it does make her vaguely concerned that this sort of thing could be a security hazard. That said, she'll be making slow circuits of the village, both keeping an eye out for anyone familiar and also keeping an eye out for any potential trouble. Somebody's gotta keep the peace around here.

[The scanner pops and the screen dies. She looks at it, looks back at Wooper, and slips the scanner into her pocket. No big deal. It apparently didn't mean to break anything.]

[Oh no that definitely sounded like a breaking noise...! Even after Calhoun says it's all right, Wooper still figures it should try to make up for its mistake...

So he hops once as if to say "wait one second!", then scurries on off behind a nearby tree. He returns just a brief moment later, holding a large chocolate chip cookie up to Calhoun with his mouth.

[Calhoun stares blankly at the cookie for a moment before she finally fails in fighting back a small smile.]

Is that payment or just a consolation prize?

[It's both! Which Wooper tries to convey by... swaying his head left and then right. That works right. Maybe.]

[Hey, it's no harder than communicating with the Q*Bert characters. She gives a low laugh.]

[Even though she's not big on sweets, but oh well. It's the thought.]

[It nods excitedly, a big grin on its face. Yaaay she likes it...! Or well. Maybe not the sweet part but shhshh what does he know..

And then he just kinda stands there, waiting expectantly. He likes you Calhoun..! And he intends to follow you around for the day okok.]

[Calhoun returns the stare for a moment, silently weighing the options of taking this little guy with her or leaving him behind. Because really, she can't afford distractions if there is something lurking around like a rusty nail in the candy dish.

But the last time she'd tried to brush off something small and very blue, it turned out not to be such a bad idea.

Slowly, she straightens back up, pauses, and then nods back towards the way she'd been going.]

Okay, okay. If you want to go on patrol with me, fine. But you have to stay alert, got it?

[Oh, excellent! Delighted to hear this, Wooper jumps around excitedly for a few brief moments before stopping to give Calhoun a srs bsns affirmative nod.
