7th Card Dealt [Action/Voice]
[Just as the afternoon is winding down today, Gambit is waking up. In the middle of the woods. With the damned journal right next to him. Only as far as he can tell, it's the middle of the night, which is weird, because he can't hear any crickets or anything. But it's pitch dark out, in any case.
Which is also weird, because he should be able to see just fine in the dark, but that's another matter entirely.
He spends a while feeling around in the dark, trying to figure out a sense of direction (moss grows on the north side of trees, right?) before he ultimately figures, screw it, the enclosure is only so big, walking far enough in one direction will eventually lead him somewhere. The sooner he can find his way back to his apartment, the better. Everything hurts, up to and including his pride, but being stuck with nothing but a bunch of lunatic scientists for a couple weeks did little for his comfort levels in this place.
A couple hours and several bumps into trees later, he admits defeat. Whatever direction he's walking in (south...?), he's not getting anywhere except into more tree trunks. He's lost. And the fact that he can't see a damned thing is creeping up into a growing sense of panic. But now isn't the time to freak out. He can ride through this. He's been through worse.
But just this once, he's going to have to eat his big LeBeau Sense of Pride. Out comes the journal.]

Alright, alright. Y'all didn't move the village in the las' couple weeks, did you? Don't seem like it's where I left it.

Filters are hard when you're trying to do it from memory.]
Not a damn t'ing.
[Voice | Filtered 17% | 1/2]
Then he was-
Oh dear.
Adele will not be happy about this...]
[Voice | Filtered 35%]
"Do you have any idea as to your whereabouts? Are you outside?"
[Voice | Filtered 35%]
Outside somewhere. Forest, I t'ink. The river's somewhere to the left. Not sure if I'm facin' north or south.
[Voice | Filtered 35%]
"I'll attempt to make my way to you, then. If you can hear the river, try to move closer to it, but don't take any risks."
[ He's already begun walking as he speaks, and CH5 is close enough to the river that it takes little time before Gambit can hear the water in the background.
He paused for a moment, silent, meditating, trying to feel for Gambit's life force, but it was too far away.
Well. If the Force was with him, he'd follow the river in the proper direction. If not... he'd just have to turn and go a different way.]
[Voice | Filtered 35%]
As he talks, he edges closer to the sound of the river, moving slowly and feeling the way ahead with his toes. Once the ground ahead is damp and muddy, he stops.]
[Action]
All the while, he keeps his senses opened, reaching out with his feelings, trying to find some hint of that erratic spark that was Gambit's life-force- and keeps his journal open, in case the man should need, or even want, to say something further.]
[Action]
Open thoughts that aren't how angry he is that he didn't manage to blast the droids sky-high when they came to grab him.
Eventually, he ventures cautiously through the journal:] Should I toss up a flare or somethin'?
[Action+Voice]
But that distortion, rather than Gambit himself, is what Obi-Wan finally senses, and then Gambit's message comes over the journals.]
"Good news. I believe I can sense you. Go ahead, but be careful. You could just as easily bring a tree limb down on yourself. Try shooting it above the river, rather than straight up, and hopefully it will be visible from here."
[Action+Voice]
[Just like back home. Find a stick -- easy enough, the woods is full of them -- charge it up. Judge it carefully to get just the right charge. Toss in a high arc out over the water. He can hear the pop similar to the sound of lightning hitting a tree branch, indicating the explosion went off.
And still pure darkness. Merde.]
[Action+Voice]
"I see where you are. I'll be there momentarily."
[He closes the journal. Disregarding the weariness of his knees, he draws on the Force and allows its strength to surge through his limbs, leaping across the river and sprinting the remainder of the distance, and not particularly bothering to be quiet about it.]
[Action]
Not much for stealth on this mission, are you?
[Action]
"I am capable of stealth when called for, but I don't believe we need to escape notice at the moment."
[And then concern replaces the grin.]
"Are you... otherwise well?"
[Action]
Oui. Pretty much. A li'l bit bruised, but I'll live.
[He can't remember much about the experimentation, though, and that just freaks him out. So he's trying not to think about it.]
[Action]
[Action]
Ain't gettin' any visits from any vampires. [They ain't even real. He wants to argue it, but it's pointless here and he knows it.
Just. Trying to walk towards Obi-Wan's voice here. And very nearly tripping over a rock.]
[Action]
"Perhaps it's best if I guide you back."
[Action]
[Action]
"Don't worry. We can find you a cane of some sort in the village. For now, simply walk ahead of me slowly and I'll keep you from hitting anything."
[It would be easier to keep a hand on his shoulder and lead him, but you're talking to the Padawan of Qui-Gon Jinn, and the former Master of Anakin Skywalker.
Trust me. He knows a need for independence when he sees one.]
[Action]
[It's bound to be gone by the morning, right. It'll get better. Nothing's permanent here.
But he still slowly starts walking ahead, one hand held out to try to feel the way in case of any low-hanging branches.]
[Action]
[Yeah, you're totally gonna have a cane dropped off overnight while you sleep.]
[Action]
Jus' gotta get back in the village first, that's all.
[Action]
"Quite. Oh, and you may wish to take a step to the left before you continue, there's a protruding root in your path."
[And so, Obi-Wan begins directing Gambit patiently through the darkening forest back toward the village.]
