That is about right, oui. [The man sips his drink, attempting to repress a smile and failing horribly. There's an almost boyish glee in his demeanor, though he remains calm.]

Think you could tell me where exactly here is and if there's a way out? I have an appointment to keep.

Luceti? Well. It is no city, country, world, dimension, or reality that I have ever read of, heard of, or seen in any form of media before. So this is either a fascinating fever dream, or it is real. And if it is real I must say that you are a fantastic individual mon ami, and you should never, ever change. [Again he raises his glass, smile widening as he speaks. After another sip his control breaks entirely and he has to set his glass down to laugh into his palm. This, this must be real. And he is in fact across a cocktail table from Gambit. THE Gambit.]

Remy Delacroix. It is a pleasure, no, an honor to meet you Gambit. [A lean fingered hand is extended, the smile shifting to something slightly arrogant but mostly gleeful. Gambit. THE Gambit. Across from him.]

[And he will shake that hand, grinning as well. Suspicions confirmed. It probably should not be like a personal victory to have found this guy.]

Pleasure t'meet you too. That appointment of yours... if you're lookin' for a woman named Adele, she was lookin' for you 'round here earlier.

[And also telling him not to get into any trouble with you, sir, but that part can be left unsaid, right.]

[Remy continues to grin as he shakes hands with Gambit, sitting back with his drink, absolutely giddy that he's met the man. That smile lasts up until the moment he hears that name. Then he frowns, leans forward, and if a hint of incredulous menace seeps into his voice, well. Don't take it personally Gambit.]

[Hands (and bourbon glass) up. He is innocent. This time.]

She used to live upstairs from me, but she's still here in Luceti even if we ain't neighbors anymore. Like I said, homme, she was keepin' an eye out for you earlier.

...She can't be here. I like you mon ami, I truly do. But it is impossible that she is here. So I'd best hope there is another woman seeking me here and that you are mistaken because this. This is something where I cannot stand a liar.

[Alright, he's obviously stepped into something he didn't intend. Oops. He has a talent for that, doesn't he?]

S'no lie. You'd be amazed how stuff that ain't possible is possible 'round here. Time don't work the same way. People get dragged here from all kindsa universes an' timelines. Hell, I met Captain America here, an' he def'nitely ain't around anymore where I came from. T'ings are real strange 'round here.

She can't be here because she is six feet underground in NORMANDY! [Remy catches himself and slumps back in his chair, massaging his temples. He hadn't meant to shout that particular detail. At all. Still the thought...he'd wanted, and wished, and even were it possible here he'd been a pallbearer. He'd closed the lid of the casket himself. And strange as it was to be talking to Gambit, of all people, accepting that Adele was here, now...it made him far too painfully hopeful and depressed at once.]

...forgive me. It...it was relatively recent. And I have not quite managed to wrap my mind around the loss, just yet.

[That. Would be it. There's a wave of guilt. He may not have meant to poke at that particular wound, but... well, he'll accept that he did. After all, he doubts he would have reacted much better upon arrival if someone had told him one of his lost loved ones were here.]

You did not know. If it is her...it depends upon her age, if people are taken from different times. If she is in her mid thirties? She knew. If she has not mentioned it, she did not want it known. If she is younger...[And oh, what a cruel cut that would be, to see his little Addy, his petite dancing angel all bright and unblemished once again.] She would not have known.

[All those questions earlier about how long people stay here... dieu. No wonder she wasn't quite as keen on the idea of leaving as most people.]

Has she been well? Or spoken of me? She must have, you seemed to recognize me a bit when I sat down. [He rubs at his jawline, eyes intent on Gambit's. Seeing her, he'll have to work himself back up to it.]

Aside from a really ugly sofa terrorizin' her? She's been fine. And I heard of you, alright, mon ami.

No worries 'bout the sofa. We had a party an' got rid of it. [Exploding sofa is still the greatest thing he's done yet here.]

As for the grenades... oui. She mentioned those earlier.

I trust you got rid of it in your usual fashion, no? [Remy chuckles, rubbing at his face at the thought. Gambit. Exploding Adele's evil sofa.]

...I am not at fault. Tequila was involved, her ex-husband and one of my exes were in attendance and I had promised her the evening would end with a bang.

[He answers the question about the sofa with a proud nod. And then ends up laughing about the grenades.]

Well... you kept your promise, no?

I am not a LeBlanc, but for Adele? I keep my promises. Always. Which is why I must find the nearest bar. That's where she is, no? It is where we always spend my birthday. We cannot ever celebrate hers, because she forgets...so we just take care of both on mine.

Well, we got this bar, an' there's one other. This one's usually the more active of the two.

[Remy again stands a bit, peering around the establishment for any sign of that blond head. There is none.] ...would she have gone to the other, were this too crowded?
