1st Card Dealt [Action]

[Luceti, today, there is a very large, sturdy cardboard box lying in the plaza. It’s not walking around, just sitting there, with one foot poking out at a somewhat awkward angle from one corner. It was dumped, at some point in the night, on the front step of the Item Shop, and there it remains. Its occupant has only just now woken up, and he’s not too thrilled. From time to time, the box rustles, and occasionally there are muffled curses in Cajun French.

It’s a tight fit in this here box when you’re too tall to really fit in it.

Eventually, once he’s managed to untangle himself from the knot the Malnosso have practically twisted him into and gotten out of this box, Gambit will be making the rounds through the shops in the plazas. Dressed in just his New Feather pants. He is bent on at least finding his coat. The half-naked part doesn’t bother him in the slightest, but he likes that coat. From there, it’s time to get a feel for the neighborhood. If he’s gonna be stuck here, he’s gonna know his way around.

Not the first time? [This is news to her; no one ever mentioned... not that there was any need to, anyway.] But you do not remember your previous stay?

Nope. Not a t'ing. [Which he figures is probably pretty weird. This doesn't seem like something anyone would forget about.]

It is rather common, actually. Much more uncommon for one to retain memories of a previous stay here in Luceti. [which happens to be the case with her.]

[Still, it's bugging him that he doesn't remember it. There's bound to be some way to dig up something, some kind of hint.]

Something to that effect, yes. [She pauses for a beat, shifting around the things in her arms before asking her next question.]

... I should ask; have you acquainted yourself with the workings of Luceti?

[If asked, she would say that it's because the last time she saw Gambit? They were on the same side, fighting (and losing) against the threat of Apocalypse.]

All right. [she smiles slightly.] You mentioned the other X-Men - you've run into them, already? [She's surprised you aren't bruised and limping.]

[Well, that's a small blessing for him.

The question earns a short laugh. Jubilee's flip into the fountain is still pretty fresh in his mind.] Sure did. Don't t'ink Rogue was too happy about it, neither.

[And he's pretty much unfazed by being kicked off her doorstep.]

These last few days have been rather trying for all of us, I'm afraid. I hope she didn't cause any lasting damage?
