[Finally. Finally the damn lights are out of his window. Gambit's never minded a little festivity, but when your eyes are sensitive to bright light, it gets a little hard to sleep when you can't. Take down. The Christmas lights.

So he's in a pretty good mood today. Snow aside, of course. He could do without that. But he's still venturing out in it - totally not slipping from time to time, you guys are imagining that - to swing by the grocery store.

Important business here. New Year's is coming up, and that means black-eyed peas. With the bad luck streak he's had going since he got here, he's going to need to make a ton of them for luck.

Oh. [She glances down, noticing the uneven ice and snow cluttering the walkway as if for the first time. Yeah, that is kind of dangerous, isn't it.]

Let me get that. [And, with a circular arm movement, the snow and ice on the pavement all flows to one side in front of them. She'll have to do it on the way back too.]

There. That should do it. Although maybe you should practice trying to walk on it some more, just in case.

[Well, at least she already knows these sorts of abilities happen. Makes his life easier.]

Abilities. Even wit'out rockets, I can manage a firework show. Take it this ain't the firs' time you run into someone wit' flashy tricks like this?

Very interesting! That'd be very helpful. And no, it isn't. Honestly, everyone here seems to have something up their sleeve so it's not so surprising anymore.

And he was just starting to forget that there were weirder things in Luceti than demonic-looking eyes. He tenses slightly at first, just in case, but relaxes when she turns to getting rid of the ice instead.

Now there's a useful mutation/ability/magic/whatever to have. Beats the hell out of Iceman making more of it. His smile, which slipped a bit at the defensive posture, warms again.]

Not really, no. Outside of whatever the Malnosso may throw at us, it's very peaceful here. Surprising, but not really.

[Riding out an entire winter here is not exactly in his plans. But he still files that information away for future reference. It's infinitely better than slip-sliding his way through Luceti until he finds a way to sneak his way into the Malnosso's headquarters.
